Recent feedback from Kansas City, Missouri, September 2022 attendee rating this program a Five Star:

"This program helped me better understand myself and which areas I can improve. Most of the modules were interlinked to know in detail and allowed self-reflection. I personally think that there are many aspects to learn through these sessions that can be applied in my personal and professional life. You have been an excellent mentor to help me understand how important it is to maintain the balance in personal and professional life to become a better leader and work with teams."

"You should sign up if you are going to be present, engaging, and open-minded enough to embrace the opportunities to elevate and grow as an individual and team. This course will challenge your thought process and encourage you to become more intentional about life and leadership. I enjoyed the DiSC personality training. The Building Blocks of Leadership were important in understanding how to manage people but also in understanding our personal leadership styles. The Ikigai and Meet Me in Ten Years was a great example of how to think on a deeper level, enhancing our experience in life as a whole."

"People should sign up for OAR Leadership to have their eyes opened about themselves. If one knows more about oneself, one can be more strategic in their planning. One will be inspired and transformed by the life of Dr. Rodriguez. His transparency allows others to be transparent. The OAR Leadership training will leave you wanting to do more, be more and achieve more. What I liked most was that I could explore myself, see myself, and accept myself. The "I AM" was in full effect, and I never saw it the way I do now. Completely life-changing."

-Andrea Martinez
Madera, California

"The OAR Leadership training was very engaging. Most of the discussion topics made me have to dig deep. Topics like what my purpose is and what my strengths are. I can apply the topics discussed with my staff on a daily basis. In regards to being a motivator, leader of the team, focusing on my teams and my own strengths as well as bettering myself as a supervisor."

Fathers and Families Coalition of America offers you several programs. They are designed from an introspective strategic perspective. The OAR Leadership Institute using the "I Am Going Anyway" manual, is based on specialized modules. The program provides a unique opportunity for executives, senior managers, managers, and forecasted leaders to participate in a 3-day intensive leadership development training. The sessions conclude with the option of developing a leadership plan and an executive coaching session to support the goals established by each participant.

Fathers and Families Coalition of America OAR Leadership Institute is at least 20 hours of leadership development training with approximately five hours of participant take-away work and an executive coaching session. Our curriculum maximizes future leaders' potential, team capacity, and leadership development.

FFCA Model is a Four-Part Institute with many learning and development activities.

The competency-based curriculum focuses on the leadership, relationship, emotional intelligence, advanced skills, knowledge, and abilities most relevant to professionals in programs that illustrate key concepts and enhance learning by engaging families, children, or parents. The faculty from the Fathers and Families Coalition of America teaches the curriculum. Key curriculum components include:

  • One - DiSC and Leadership: Using Your Personality Strengths for Succeeding in Your Leadership Style
  • Two- The Pinnacle of the Pyramid Building Blocks of Success
  • Three - A New Story - Positive Goal Setting for Leadership Legacy Plan
  • Four – Responding Leadership Through Increased Emotional Intelligence
  • Pulling It All Together – Closing Leadership Development Plan

How can people best develop their leadership skills to match their personality, amplify their strengths, and examine areas of their nature limiting the overall team's success? Our leadership training is unique by blending proven leadership skill development, emotional intelligence training, and cutting-edge leadership goal setting to answer this question with the latest version of the DiSC model of human behavior, which is one of the most widely used, most scientifically based, and most effective approaches to assessing and improving leadership styles and skills.

THE FFCA FRAMEWORK OF NEW LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Module One- Understanding Yourself Better to Understand Others Better -DiSC Personality Training.

Participants will complete the DiSC Assessment to determine personal communication styles, social behaviors, and emotional coping methods. Participants will become more self-aware of their personalities and communication patterns to build the foundation necessary to amend their attitudes and behaviors. Participants will explore their eight leadership personality dimensions to strengthen tendencies and styles for increased effectiveness.

Module Two- The Pinnacle of the Pyramid Building Blocks of Success.

Participants will apply self-leadership skills and Building Blocks of Success knowledge to setting goals. Specifically, participants will recognize barriers to achieving goals and identify personal passions, increasing motivation to make the attitude and behavioral changes needed to create healthy relationships and personal success. Participants will learn about self-leadership and the 15 building blocks to success: Confidence, Skill, Team-Spirit, Poise, Condition, Competitive Greatness, Industriousness, Loyalty, Alertness, Initiative, Enthusiasm, Self-Control, Friendship, Cooperation, and Intentness.

Module Three- Developing a New Story - Positive Goal Setting blended with Ikigai Approaches.

The module is based on the following quadrants: Passion, Purpose, Vocation, and Purpose, united to the experience of increasing self-esteem, dreams, and aspirations into a purpose for self-actualization. Participants use strategies in communication, creativity, and critical thinking skills for dynamic self-nurturance skills.   The FFCA model addresses the difficulty of a new path, the desire to have a change, self-reflection on one's purpose and the level of passion for that purpose, and how to go from being stuck and in self-doubt to unlimited possibilities. Participants explore what boundaries have limited their fulfillment and who is their web of influence.

Module Four-  Healthier Relationships Emotional Intelligence Training.

In this module, participants will complete the EQ Assessment to understand better their emotional intelligence, including strengths and weaknesses. Participants will explore the ability to regulate emotions and the role of mindfulness in relationships. If an individual can be less impulsive, reactive, and more in touch with emotional triggers in a stressful situation, they will be able to better tune in to their feelings and needs and model better behaviors.

Pulling It All Together – Closing Leadership Development Plan

The OAR Leadership Institute Model closes with participants creating a leadership plan based on the assessments, in-class activities, and take-away activities to develop a Meet Me In Ten Years Plan. The approaches are intended to guide the participants toward creating a new framework to expand their capacity to inspire, energize, support, observe, and drive themselves and others, thus making a difference in the organization, team, and individual.

What is your purpose, passion, vocation, and profession as a leader?

FFCA has provided Leadership Development training since the early 2000s. In 2021, we formalized a leadership program through the OAR Leadership Insitute and the I Am Going Anyway curriculum. The OAR Leadership program is based on diverse faculty's four main themes with decades of leadership and service experience. One can be in a leadership position; it takes something special for a person to take on the responsibilities of all the facets of a great leader. In 18 months, we have trained almost 200 hundred individuals from Jamaica, the United Kingdom, Puerto Rico, Pakistan, and the United States. The Directors of three California Counties' the Department of Child Support Services and the Department of Social Services, contracted FFCA to teach this unique leadership model to management staff.

In 2022, the County of Madera Child Support Department contracted the OAR Leadership Institute for staff leadership development. In the summer of 2022, this framework by our organization is scheduled for an institute in the State of Missouri.

The County of Los Angeles, Best Start Program by El Nido Family Services for the San Fernando Valley, partnered with UCLA and FFCA and contracted our team to teach 60 parents the 16-hour program. Overall the program was rated 4.89 out of five stars. The most recently rated the program overall 9.2/10! The program has been offered in dual languages (Spanish and English) to expand the opportunities for participation.
