UCLA Early Head Start & UCLA Department of Pediatrics

Fathers & Families Coalition of America is honored to have one of America's stellar universities, UCLA as one of many affiliates of FFCA and the regional lead for the west, Delia Vicente, Executive Director, UCLA Early Head Start and UCLA Department of Pediatrics.    UCLA Early Head Start staff is committed to providing individualized services for infants, toddlers, pregnant women, and their families to support each child’s optimal development.   UCLA Early Head Start is part of a National Program. Early Head Start Programs can be found across the country. Find one in your area using the Head Start Locator.      Early Head Start provides early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income infants and toddlers and their families, and pregnant women and their families. Early Head Start focuses on promoting school readiness services and advocacy for low-income families to promote optimal child health, nutrition, and development. The program also aims to improve family outcomes through designing responsive services that meet the needs of the community. Services are designed to nurture healthy attachment between parents and their child (and child and caregiver) from pregnancy to the child’s third birthday.

Long Beach, California 

Long Beach Schools - Head Start as a family-focused, comprehensive child development program, Head Start provides education, health, nutrition, social services, and parental involvement to at-risk children birth to five years of age and their families in either a center-based or home-based program option. The City of Long Beach Head Start and State Preschool is one of the State of California's top 10 largest programs under the leadership of Dr. Caludia Sosa Valderrama. An essential male involvement initiative exists that provides opportunities for fathers and father-figures
To more productively participate in the rearing of their Head Start child(ren).

 The Raise Foundation is dedicated to stopping the cycle of abuse through education, advocacy, community collaboration, and comprehensive services for families and children. Since 1974 we have grown into a dynamic, well-respected, non-profit organization serving all of Orange County. The goal of The Raise Foundation is to provide resources to strengthen families, making each family’s home a safer place for children to grow up. With over 38,000 cases of reported child abuse and neglect in the county each year from every Orange County community. Since 1974 the goal of The Raise Foundation has been to prevent child abuse by strengthening families. By collaborating with other family-serving agencies, we maximize impact while reducing duplication of services.  We provide resources to build better parents, who, in turn, will develop better kids, and together build a better community. With over 38,000 cases of reported child abuse and neglect in the county in 2010, it is clear that prevention programs and services such as those offered by The Raise Foundation continue to be desperately needed in every Orange County community!

San Diego, CA 

Stephen’s Cathedral COGIC – South East Counseling Center under Bishop George Dallas McKinney's leadership is highly respected for his insight into faith, fatherhood, and family. He is a renowned Licensed Marriage and Family and Child Counselor and has developed a model program in San Diego County to address homelessness and youth engaged in the criminal justice systems.  St. Stephen's has been a leader in social justice and community services for over 50-years. 


Lancaster, CA

Living Stone Cathedral uses its faith and community-based approaches to work alongside fathers, mothers, youth, and couples. One of the leaders for a local Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) program, Pen or Pencil, and fatherhood initiatives, augments the community approaches to the needs of Los Angeles County residents in the high desert area. 


Whittier, CA

The Nehemiah Project LA is a faith-based initiative that works with various nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies committed to serving the transitional Foster Youth community with excellence and integrity. Building brighter futures for America's transitioning Foster Youth. The Nehemiah Project LA mission addresses the healthy transition of young people exiting or emancipated from the foster care system into society. We ensure that they are equipped to lead a productive and secure life in adulthood. Our team works to achieve this goal by creating greater awareness of the challenges experienced by this population. 


San Francisco, CA 

Mission Neighborhood Centers, Inc., Precita Center  (MNC), has been providing comprehensive child development services in San Francisco since 1969. Currently, MNC has ten child development sites providing early education and care to more than 365 preschool children and 48 Infants and Toddlers. A variety of preschool options are available, including part-day Head Start, full-day Head Start/ State Preschool and Infant Toddler care, full-day tuition-based (private pay), and Home Base services. Since 2010, MNC Child Development Program also offers full-day, year-round subsidized care for infants & toddlers at the Southeast Families United site in the Bay View District and subsidized toddler care at the Bernal Dwellings preschool site in the Mission. Precita Valley Center provides after-school, evening, and summer programs to youth ages 5-25. It offers a safe place for at-risk children, youth, and young adults throughout San Francisco to engage in healthy activities and receive vital support services they may need.


Palmdale, CA

Eagle's Landing- Fatherhood Connection is a California Non-Profit 501(C3) Corporation founded in 2003 as a division of Operation Life Corporation. Under Sheila Parker, CEO, and Founder, Eagles Landing has served more than 100,000 families in the San Fernando Valley, Jamaica, and Brazil under the guidance and direction. Through our Fatherhood Connection program, we have assisted over 3500 men in the quest to become better fathers, re-establish a relationship with their children, and plan for the most important journey in their lives, Fatherhood. It does not matter what your current relationship is with your child; we are here to assist you with the critical life skills needed to nurture, guide, and connect with your children.  


Richmond, CA   

Under the leadership of Lary Hill, CEO, Men, and Women of Purpose joined FFCA as a formal affiliate in the Bay Area in 2019. MWP's mission is to rebuild individuals and families for a healthy community by addressing social and economic barriers to reduce recidivism. Men and Women of Purpose (MWP) are dedicated to rebuilding safe, healthy, and whole communities. MWP’s comprehensive program focuses on multiple factors related to social and economic problems (high-risk behavior, recidivism, chronic joblessness, and homelessness). MWP works to empower communities to be self-sufficient, allowing individuals, families, and communities to be proud and whole. This program's vision is to lead the nation by decreasing violence, providing unity, accountability, and wholeness for a healthy community. Men and Women of Purpose will restore hope, pride, and purpose by enhancing love and integrity to reunite our families and create employment opportunities.

Established in 1996 as a grassroots initiative. Incorporated in 2004 as an Arizona nonprofit. Transitioned in 2010 as a national and international professional development and advocacy agency. In 2016 expanded our charter as well as a California nonprofit as we serve our stakeholders as a federal nonprofit 501(C) 3 (EIN 81-1290316) supporting the professional development, quality improvement training of those working with families, parents, children, and building healthy communities with father engagement strategies.

In 2020, we incorporated in Puerto Rico (Corporation No. 453499) with Dr. Aida Díaz Rivera as the President for our Transforming Leadership & Management Institute - Center for Latino Initiatives of Fathers and Families Coalition of America.
