The selection criteria will involve relevance to theme, clarity of workshop, significance, and originality. Presenters must send a 150-300 word abstract by September 30, 2018. Submission of the abstract must include the presenter's affiliation, biography, workshop's title, three learning objectives and email address. The review committee, chaired by Dr. Annette Miles will communicate notification of acceptance on or before October 7, 2018. Upon notice of approval, the presenter must register and pay for the conference, at the reduced Presenters' rate with a discounted code provided for those presenters attending the full conference and or one-day only. FFCA will give full acceptance after the reduced fee submitted on or before September 30, 2018. The final workshop modifications (if planning team requests) must be submitted by October 20, 2018.

Dr. Annette Miles who has volunteered to chair the conference faculty and ensure that we strategically place workshops to maximize potential impact for both attendees and the presenters. Dr. Annette Miles, Assistant Professor of Human Development, specializes in the growth and development of children from infancy to third grade. She is a retired educator who has experience working with students across the lifespan in the Washington, D.C, Maryland and Virginia area, especially those with disabilities. Annette is a specialist in teaching and assisting individuals with disabilities to achieve educational, career and life goals. She holds endorsements in Intellectual, Learning and Emotional disabilities. She volunteers with teens and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her area of research focuses on public policy issues impacting children.

Our training programs, symposiums, and national conference are not limited to those who work fathers only. Our national conference provides comprehensive professional development to diverse participants. Past attendees include: Head Start Teachers, Family Service Workers, Child Welfare Workers, Fatherhood Practitioners, Criminal Justice Professionals in Probation, Parole, Health-Care and Maternal and Child Professionals, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist, Counselors, Child Support Advocates, Clergy, Head Start Family Service Advocates, Peer Mentors, Life Coaches, Child Care Workers, Early Childhood Teachers, Parent Engagement Leaders, Case Managers, Fatherhood Home Visitor Facilitators of Fatherhood Curriculums, Youth Development Workers, Workforce Development and Economic Mobility Professionals, Reentry Community Based Professionals, Psychologists. Sociologists, Researchers and more. Many of the attendees manage programs for foster-care young parents, single, divorced, teen or estranged parents and are working with children and families daily.
