Free Online Introduction Advanced Practitioner Credential program - Friday, March 13th

Dear FFCA community:

Tomorrow, we have our first online class from our most recent Advanced Practitioner Credential program offered at the 21st Annual Families and Fathers Conference last month. Our 8th edition of this program updated to ensure expanded learning concepts, skills, and activities replicable working with individuals and groups. Tomorrow, March 13, Dr. Narviar C. Barker Browne, LMSW, will lead the block of instruction on EQ with a following on MI & Cognitive Distortions. If you have not completed this program and want to get the final credential, we invite you to sit in on this call offered through a virtual portal only. If you have never taken this course, this is a great time to get an "appetizer" of our 11-module program with a practicum.

We will offer a partnership with one of our several affiliates of FFCA to provide a regional event with the Family Development Services, Inc. You can review more about this event for April 16th & 17th here https://fathersandfamiliescoalition.org/conferences.html.

If you want to join in on Friday, March 13, 2020, class that is 1.5 hours online only starting from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. California time, complete this brief interest form https://forms.gle/Xp6oV4FGxHBJ2R1z7

Our leadership has been closely following events and public health recommendations surrounding the outbreak and spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We have been planning and preparing for the possibility of transitioning to an online teaching and learning environment to help manage the potential spread of COVID-19.

Although we know that smaller venues reduce the possibilities, we have opted for safety to FFCA members and the professional attendees of the FFCA community who may travel to our Spring Region 5 event.  As a precaution, we have decided to transition in-person classes to online instruction.

Effective Thursday, March 12, the following changes will occur:

We are taking these steps out of an abundance of caution. Public health officials have not yet made this a requirement for public institutions. Nevertheless, given all that we know and what we can anticipate based on information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we believe this is the most prudent course of action at the current time.
